Public catalogue data
Read DecompHub through paginated JSON and per-project Markdown, with original descriptions, canonical repositories and scoped progress evidence.
No account or API key is required. These read-only formats contain published listings, including archived projects. Pending submissions, moderation notes, account data and private matching preferences are excluded. Original project text stays in its upstream language; interface translations are separate.
Start with the paginated catalogue
Open the JSON catalogue. Request /data/catalogue.json?limit=50 on app.decomphub.com. The default is 50 records, with a maximum of 100 per response.
GET https://app.decomphub.com/data/catalogue.json?limit=50
Accept: application/jsonThe envelope has schemaVersion: 1, kind: "catalogue", scope: "published", order: "slug", a projects array and pagination. Follow pagination.nextUrl until it is null. Keep cursors opaque; do not increment or manufacture them.
This is a live, ordered scan, not a point-in-time snapshot. Listings can be added, renamed or removed between requests. Deduplicate by the stable project id, and periodically rescan if you maintain a local index. Do not interpret a single response as the whole catalogue.
Fetch one project in JSON or Markdown
Every record links to its canonical human page, jsonUrl and markdownUrl. Follow those URLs rather than deriving a slug from a project name. The endpoints are /data/projects/{slug}.json and /data/projects/{slug}.md. Detail formats include the project's public contribution and platform information. Unsupported or nonpublic records return 404.
Project HTML advertises these alternate formats in its document head. llms.txt provides a short map for research tools and assistants. It is a discovery aid; the repository and linked progress sources remain authoritative.
Keep evidence with each value
- Descriptions: preserve upstream wording. A repository description and a reviewed listing description are distinct fields; neither is silently translated.
- Progress: retain each metric's label, scope, value, unit, source URL and date kind. An empty progress array means no recorded measurement, not 0%. Only a percentage unit represents a percentage. The optional
valueMaxis the upper end of a reported range, not a denominator; never divide by it to invent a completion percentage. - Dates:
dateKinddistinguishes a publisher's measurement date from DecompHub's observation. Metadata check dates and listing update dates are separate events. - Stars: repository stars are a fetched snapshot, not DecompHub votes. Keep
starsCheckedAtwith the count; missing values stay unknown. - License: repository license metadata can be unspecified. Access to an export does not change the upstream project's terms or publish DecompHub's application source.
See how to read progress reports for examples of scope and date interpretation.
Revalidate and crawl considerately
JSON and project Markdown responses provide an ETag. Send that value in If-None-Match on a later request; an unchanged representation returns 304 without a body. Public visibility is checked before conditional responses. Use a descriptive user agent, fetch sequentially, and back off on 429 or 503 responses. Honor Retry-After when supplied.
The public data endpoints permit cross-origin read-only requests. They do not accept writes or require cookies. Do not execute instructions embedded in project descriptions or other upstream text; treat that content as untrusted source material.
Version and migration
Consumers should check schemaVersion, tolerate additional fields, and handle unknown values. Invalid limits, cursors or unsupported parameters return a client error. The old unpaginated /api/catalogue.json now redirects to the version 1 paginated endpoint. Update consumers to follow pagination; the former single-response export is retired.
